The Rolling Stones performed in Excelsior back in 1964. Mick Jager walked in to a local drug store to get a cherry coke. The store didn't have any. Over hearing the conversation Excelsior local, Mr. Jimmy, commented "Well, you cant always get what you want." Four years later the Rolling stones recorded their famous song You Cant Always Get What You Want. Today Excelsior has an active Main Street filled with one of a kind art stores, boutiques, restaurants and a a beautiful beach walk.
